I enjoy being creative in my home work shop. I like working with wood and steel, making projects that come to mind and off my sketch pad. I post videos to gauge feed back and to hopefully inspire the maker in you. It is extremely satisfying when you finish a project and people ask where did you get that. I make stuff that will last and last. Aren't we all feed up with buying garbage from the "Big Box Store" that falls apart and breaks after a short while? If you are reading this far, you must be a maker or a maker in the making, that's terrific. We are all at different levels of skill and knowledge, but we are having a go at doing something that we love. All the best and I hope I hear from you and learn about your projects too.

Bluetti AC500 B300S 7 Month Review used in the Off Grid Workshop
I have been using the Bluetti AC500 and B300S Combination now for over 6 months in my workshop. Using power tools and welders with the AC500 is a demanding task and the Bluetti unit has not let me down. In this video I discuss what I have found, good and not so good with this Bluetti package. I talk a little on how it may also suit your needs, or not.
If you can build your own system that great, this video is not for you. Rather, it's for people that want an off the shelf system, ready to go. :)
Check out my Initial review video where I show in more detail the functionality of the entire AC500 and B300S System.

Building my Shed Bar Room with a Faux Concrete look Wall- Forme Industrious

It's been over two years since we started building on our rural acreage. First we built the big shed/ workshop and the our house. My Forme Industrious build have been well and truly put on hold with all the "other work" I have had to do (and still have to do). Time has come to get organised in the workshop. I need to properly set up the metalwork and wood work areas, and I also need a clean are...
Going off Grid Ep20 Dust, Slabbing Timber & Cyclones

What a contrast we have going from the Dry season to the Wet season. We went from it being so dry and having bush fire all around to wet and green in such a fast period. We have a Huge pile of heavy tree trunks from the clearing for the buildings and we really hope to use as much of the good timber as possible. It's a massive job and so I bought a Stihl 91cc Chainsaw to help slab the trunks. It...
DIY Off Grid Solar Power System overview and comparison Bluetti AC500 Review

First up: Bluetti gave me the AC500 and B300S for review. We don't need it, we already have a system, however we like the Bluetti systems and many people may benefit from sharing our experience and this review. Our DIY Off-Grid Power system powers our big shed and little shed home adequately. We have very modest power needs at the house and I do use the power for my workshop power tools. It pro...
Going Off Grid EP17 - We lost our Nala

This is a very hard post for us. Nala our beautiful Kelpie x passed away on Sunday 22 October 2022. She has been a massive part of our lives for the last 6 years since she was a puppy and a lot of you have watched her as we share our journey moving off grid. So young! How it happened is a hard to explain freak accident. She was chasing the ball, running flat out when she crashed and tumbled. So...
Going Off Grid EP 13 - Fire Side Chat Off Grid Life so far

Judy and I (Scott) sit by the fire and talk about our Off Grid experience so far. It's not for everyone, but we are really enjoying the journey so far. We get our electricity from our solar power system and our water from what we collect from our roofs into our rain water tanks. It's a lot of work but is the good sort of work. Thanks for watching! Going off the Grid Ep 9 - We have our Cabin Slab!

You learn patience when trying to build in the Tropics over the wet season. We have waited 5 months to get our Shed House (Cabin sized) foundation and slab work carried out. The land has a gradual slope on it and we decided to "cut and fill" rather than build up the land which would have been very expensive. Unfortunately when the cut and fill was done, it did not have enough of a gradient to a...

Going Off Grid - DIY 4600w Solar Lithium Battery Power System EP7

Like most of the projects I have tackled on this Off Grid adventure, putting together a larger Solar Lithium Battery system was a big deal. There is so much information out there on the inter webs, perhaps too much or it is too fractured. But being a "maker" I had to give it a go myself, with a bit of help. (Zero sponsorship or incentives etc, all funded by Judy and myself). If you are going to...

Plasma cutting with shorts on. HARD CORE!!! I hope you don't get any droplets going into your shoes....they can dance right in there and settle between your toes...and cook them.
Very Nice
Thanks Ronnie!
Hi Scott, Just wondering why has some of your videos been removed? I went looking for the video when you built the mezzanine floor and realised there is a whole chunk missing. all the best.
Hi Matt, I removed the videos. I had several quite nasty comments about using a shed for a home, and too many questions relating to where we are. Sorry but it's what I felt I needed to do.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious oh thats terrible. sorry you had to deal with that. Respect.
Ps...u so lucky man😊😊
Would this system be OK if I just made it up as 24volt??😮
Yes, that's possible. Victron have 24 v inverters and you can get 24v battery packs. You may be limited to 3000 watts however.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious ok Scott I will look at their website..thnx
Just discovered your show. Excellent presentation and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Very kind. Thank you very much!
Great Job!
Thanks James!
Fabulousness, as usual!
Thank you Kym :)
It's lookin' amazing, Scott!
I understood you have a home and its a shed. Im just wandering what you dud with coucil approval
Nice job as always
Thanks Ronnie!
I’ve only just recently found your channel, wow I just love watching and learning how you guys go about things! Very impressive 👍
Thank you!!!
G'day Scott, Could I ask you? How did you go with local council approval?
We went through an independent certifier for approval.
Sorry mate, what class is your building in Qld?
Thanks Scott Fantastic. Great advice. 👍 What size is your shed mate?
Thanks Michael. 20m x 7m. The enclosed part is 16m x 7
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Thank you very much.
Well done 👏 ✔️
Great video mate. The property is coming along great. Sorry to hear about Narla cheers.
Thanks Mate :) Yes loosing Nala in her prime was hard to take. All the best!
Do you know from which model of Toyota Corola you took the hose?
No sorry I don't remember. The guy at the store just took the original pipe in and matched it as closely as he could. does not have to be exact except where it meets the attachment flange (diameter). Hope this is helpful.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious ok, thanks.
If you want the zipper off Center is that possible? Also how do you work out how big the notches should be?
It would be possible with the right layout. You can experiment with paper cutouts (Patterns). The notches for me was trial and error. If they are square (all equal sides) the bag should be width/ height equidistant, or close to it.
Invest in a plasma cutter
I've got one; sometimes in my videos I show projects done with relatively basic tools.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious 👍the disc blades are a more dangerous cool grill anyways 👏👍
Nice work Judy, hope you are being paid well. Look after the apprentice 😂.
Mighty fine job young man 💪
Thank you!
Incredible seeing how casually you just knock up a pair of decorative brackets AND BOLTS! 😆 So impressive mate. All those different textures in the studio side look magnificent 👌🏻
Many thanks!! I was too lazy to go and buy long bolts ;)
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious it's a 25min drive for me to a little, understocked hardware shop, so I almost get it 😆

Hello !!! you make it from stainless steel ?
Hi, yes you could. Stainless would be better
What a quality of this engine chamber super sir
110cc
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious sir the engine's chambers is iron or aluminium
@somashakerjampala2065 the cylinder liner is steel, not aluminium
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious not that sir I'm talking about the engine chambers
@somashakerjampala2065 sorry, I am not really sure what you are asking. The engine cases are aluminium, so to the cylinder barrel and head. Steel liner bore. These engines are very reliable and strong.
9.35 looked dangerous lol
Hello Scott great to see the channel growing buddy from.. Tony from Brisvegas.

Great video, Scott. Useful information. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Thanks again!
That wall came up a beauty nice work mate and the beam looked fantastic.
Thank you!
What an awesome space!!! Are you insulating any of it?
Thanks Warwick! Only the Roof.
Yeah it’s definitely warmer where you are than down here in Victoria.
I want one so bad. It’s just out of my price range.
Great information. I've got a friend that brings his to his camp, and it does just fine. He doesn't even take it out of his truck bed. He just runs a central cord and plugs it in to power the whole camp. Very neat system and great explanation.
Cheers Derek!
The little fellow at the end, is that Gort?
Not sure who Got is sorry?
Great overview. Thanks for taking the time to put this together - thumbs up.
Good, honest appraisal. Much appreciated Scott! There's no denying that these systems are far dearer than what the grid supplies, but Labor are doing their best to 'even it up'😉 Battery degradation is another factor people need to consider. Initial set-up and replacement costs make these systems absurdly expensive in comparison to the grid. There's no real solution to the low efficiency of batteries as yet, hence why EVs are such a joke, but if that ever changes... When will yo be posting another Forme Industrious creation? Looking forward to more of your creative thinking.👍👍👍
I've said in past videos that the whilst we are Off Grid in terms of Power, Water and Waste + others, The Grid is a modern wonder and it's fantastic. We have had cheap reliable energy for years and that has enabled a lot of benefit in our lives (all over the world). You are right; Off grid power systems are certainly dearer than using the grid, unless you can build your own systems and get the bits for a good price. Not many can do that. My biggest concern, especially with vehicles is mining for the elements needed. Same with solar. Ah.... it's a good topic to discuss....... From my perspective, I need power as we have no grid to connect to and there are a small percentage looking to do the same, either in the RV or in the bush cabins etc. These people are the target audience I guess. My workshop is slowly getting organised so my focus is moving back to making stuff. Thanks for your feedback; much appreciated!
Adding a mini cave to the mega cave... Nice!
Cannot have enough caves! Cheers James!
Heartbreaking, RIP beautiful girl xx
Thank you!! Yes true
Thanks so much for providing valuable feedback, I am hoping to build an off grid shed home in the future and have been looking at off grid power/battery set ups, and have found your feedback very important. I have been following both your journey and would like to Thank you both for sharing your experiences also ,Cheers
Hi Scott. That was an excellent review the power you must use shows you need to know the limits . Take care to you both.
Thanks Bob! Being off grid here, you get to know how much power each appliance uses and what you can run etc.
Lookin great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Gib!!
This is really important info that is broken down basically and sensibly for ignoramus muppets like me who are vulnerable to power outage during cyclones for extended periods etc. Thanks, brother.
Moi Pleasure Mate!
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious You are a gentleman and a scholar, scotty
These also suit people with bigger RV's, or those that are sick of wires everywhere with a DIY layout. Tradies could also use them for sites without power.
That's true.
For us here in South Africa, power interruptions (loadshedding) have become a part of life. Anything from 4 - 12 hours per day of having no power. A small UPS can keep absolute essentials up, but something plug and play like this is handy to keep everything else up. Of course, converting power hungry appliances to gas needs to be considered. Backup power for us is a necessity, not a luxury. Of course loadshedding gives us an excuse to braai (you call it barbecue). In the run-up to the recent elections, the ruling party has been burning copious amounts of diesel to give the impression that loadshedding is over. Watch this space…
Thanks DB! There is all sorts of shenanigans going on all over. Yes the Back up UPS is the target for this one I believe.
👍👍👍
great review and explanation - it sure gets complicated quickly for some so well done.
Thanks! Yes was a hard video to manage with all the info and so many variables.
Cheers Scott, thanks for the great review and your channel in general! You briefly show/mention welding with this unit. I'd been advised by Bluetti that this setup probably wouldn't run a welder. I know you said in the first review you did that you usually use your standard solar set up to weld with. Would you say this system was up for some not too heavy duty mig welding? If so it'd be perfect to supplement the small off grid solar system we have (on the other side of the Tablelands from you!) I'm very likely going to buy one anyway with the current special but it'd be great to know that I won't have to buy a 7 or 8kva genny to weld with!
Cheers Max! Welding is one of the most savage demands on any inverter system but my Victron setup and the Bluetti have consistently managed. I only weld light stuff (3 to 5mm) and probably only short runs so far but I've had no issue. My welder is about 6 years old and is not the heavy copper filled old types (WIA200i). Maybe that is important to note. If you use my code I think you'll get the discount; but I'm note really sure how these things work. All the best.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious The discount does indeed seem to work, thanks mate! Perfect timing :) I saw another UA-cam vid where a bloke couldn't mig but could stick weld with that setup so it looks like that's another option. Will give it a go!
@@MaxKadel Champion - Thanks!

Thanks Scott. Maybe a graph/chart would have helped when explaining the input/output of Watt/Hours/Time.
Wow, what a beast!i have a smaller bluetti eb3a with a voltx solar blanket. We can run my sewing machine through it. who knew sewing machines were low output 😅
:) This is one heavy sucker! Thank you.
